ജെ.കെ. റൗളിങ് എഴുതിയ ഹാരി പോട്ടർ പരമ്പരയിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ പുസ്തകമാണ് ഹാരി പോട്ടർ ആന്റ് ദ ചേമ്പർ ഓഫ് സീക്രട്ട്‌സ്. 1998, ജൂലൈ 2ന് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ലോകവ്യാപകമായി ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിന്റെ 12 കോടി പതിപ്പുകൾ വിറ്റഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്. 1998ലെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച ബാലസാഹിത്യ പുസ്തകത്തിനുള്ള ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ബുക്ക് അവാർഡ് ഉൾപ്പെടെ പല പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ നേടി. ഈ പുസ്തകം ഇതേ പേരിൽത്തന്നെ ചലച്ചിത്രമാക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. 2002 നവംബർ 15നാണ് പ്രസ്തുത ചലച്ചിത്രം പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയത്.

കഥാസാരം


ഹോഗ്വാർട്സിലെ ഹാരി പോട്ടറുടെ രണ്ടാം വർഷാനുഭവങ്ങളാണ് നോവലിന്റെ പ്രമേയം. നിഗൂഢതകളുടെ അറയെ (ചേമ്പർ ഓഫ് സീക്രട്ട്സ്) അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയാണീ നോവൽ. ചേമ്പർ ഓഫ് സീക്രട്ട്സ് തുറന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന സന്ദേശം വിദ്യാലയ ഇടനാഴിയുടെ ചുമരുകളിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെമായി. സമ്പൂർണ്ണ മാന്ത്രികമല്ലാത്ത കുടുംബങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് വരുന്നവരെ ഒരു സ്ലിതെറിൻ വംശജൻ കൊല്ലുമെന്ന ഭീഷണിയായിരുന്നു സന്ദേശങ്ങളിൽ. തുടർന്ന് അത്തരത്തിലുള്ളവർ ആക്രമിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ആക്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ തണുത്ത് മരവിച്ചവരായി മാറുന്നു. ഹാരി പോട്ടറും സുഹൃത്തുക്കളായ റോൺ വീസ്‌ലിയും ഹെർമിയോണി ഗ്രേഞ്ചറും ഇതിനു പിറകിലെ സത്യം കണ്ടെത്താൻ അന്വേഷണം നടത്തുന്നു. ഒടുവിൽ ഹാരി ടോം റിഡിലിനോട് ഏറ്റുമുട്ടുന്നു. പിന്നീട് സർവ്വ ശക്തനായി മാറാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന ലോർഡ് വോൾഡമോട്ടാണ് റിഡിലെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു.

ഈ നോവലിന്റെ ചലച്ചിത്ര രൂപം 2002ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങി.[1]സ്റ്റീവ് ക്ലോവ്സിന്റെ രചനയിൽ ക്രിസ് കൊളംബസ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത[2] ചിത്രം വിതരണത്തിനെത്തിച്ചത് വാർണർ ബ്രോസായിരുന്നു. ടൈറ്റാനിക്ക്, ഹാരി പോട്ടർ ആന്റ് ദ ഫിലോസഫേഴ്സ് സ്റ്റോൺ എന്നീ ചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങൾക്ക് ശേഷം $600 നേടിയ മൂന്നാമത്തെ ചലച്ചിത്രമായി ഹാരി പോട്ടർ ആന്റ് ദ ചേമ്പർ ഓഫ് സീക്രട്ട്‌സ് മാറി.[3] ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിന് മികച്ച ഫാന്റസി സിനിമക്കുള്ള സാറ്റേൺ അവാർഡിന് നാമനിർദ്ദേശം ലഭിച്ചു.[3][4]മെറ്റാക്രിട്ടിക്കിന്റെ കണക്കുകൾ പ്രകാരം 63% സ്കോർ ഈ ഹാരി പോട്ടർ ആന്റ് ദ ചേമ്പർ ഓഫ് സീക്രട്ട്‌സ് സ്വന്തമാക്കി.[5] എന്നാൽ ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിന് റോട്ടൻ ടൊമാറ്റോസ് 82% സ്കോർ നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[2]
