I wanted a dataset which lists many windows softwares according to their categories for a project. eg: anaconda: software development, roblox: gaming, VLC: video player etc. I searched but could not find anything similar to this. Please link me to one of them if you are familiar to any such dataset.

What kind of categories are you looking for? Could you give more insight into why you need such a dataset? I did a prima facie search and your question seems true. I can create the dataset based on web scraping based on your requirements.

I wanted to create a time tracking tool which could give insight to users about their productive and distracted time based on the time and type of applications used by them. For example softwares like music player etc will come under distracted time and visual studio will be counted in productive time. That's the basic idea.
