Verdshandelsorganisasjonen (engelsk: World Trade Organization, WTO) vart etablert i 1995 etter ein revisjon av GATT-avtalen. Avtalen legg reglar for verdshandelen, og har som formål å byggje ned handelsbarrierar som til dømes toll. WTO hadde 148 medlemsland per 26. mai 2005. Generaldirektør frå mai 2005 er Pascal Lamy. Han avløyste Supachai Panitchpakdi.
